Why an internationally recognised qualification
A nationally issued training certificate tells a local supervisor that someone attended a session. It doesn't always tell a multinational client, a group HSE head sitting outside India, or an overseas employer evaluating a candidate's CV, what that person actually knows and can do. That's the specific gap NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications close.
NEBOSH (the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) and IOSH (the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) are both UK-based bodies whose qualifications are recognised well beyond the UK — including widely across India, the Gulf, Africa and Southeast Asia, largely because their syllabi are built around international reference points such as ISO 45001 and the ILO's occupational safety and health conventions, rather than any single country's domestic law. For an Indian HSE professional, that international grounding is exactly what makes the qualification portable: it reads the same way to an employer in Mumbai, Dubai or Singapore.
None of this makes a NEBOSH or IOSH qualification a substitute for knowing Indian regulation specifically — it's a management-and-principles qualification, not a jurisdiction-specific legal course. Most organisations that invest in it pair it with site-specific induction and the practical, India-grounded training under our Corporate Training Programs.
Which qualification actually fits?
These aren't really competing options — they sit at different depths and serve different purposes. This is the question we're asked most often, so here's the practical version:
Choose a NEBOSH qualification if...
You want a substantive, examined qualification in health and safety management itself — the kind that appears on a CV as a standalone credential and is often a hiring requirement for dedicated HSE roles (HSE officer, HSE coordinator, HSE manager).
Choose an IOSH course if...
You're a manager, supervisor or team leader whose job is not HSE itself, but who is responsible for other people's safety as part of a broader role — and you need practical competence and a recognised credential without a multi-day technical qualification.
Choose OSHA Outreach if...
Your organisation works with US clients or on US-linked projects, and needs a widely recognised safety-awareness credential specifically expected in that market — rather than a general international qualification.
Choose ISO 45001 Lead Auditor if...
You already have a few years of HSE experience and a foundational qualification, and you specifically need to plan and lead management system audits — internally, for clients, or as a step toward certification-body auditor status.
Frameworks we work with
Course structures below reflect the current published NEBOSH and IOSH syllabus and assessment formats. Exact hours, fees and intake dates vary by Learning Partner and are confirmed at the time of enquiry — NEBOSH in particular is transitioning to a revised General Certificate syllabus through 2026, so current intake timing matters.
NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
NEBOSH's flagship international qualification, built around ISO 45001 and ILO-OSH 2001 principles rather than any single country's legislation — which is why it is widely held across the Gulf, India, Africa and Southeast Asia. It suits managers, supervisors, HSE coordinators and anyone with health and safety responsibility, and does not require prior safety experience.

A US-recognised safety awareness programme delivered through the OSHA Outreach Training Program. It isn't a certification in the formal sense — OSHA is explicit about that — but the completion card is widely recognised across construction and general industry, particularly useful for organisations working with US clients, US-based EPC contractors, or export-oriented manufacturing.

This is the natural next step after a foundational qualification and some practical HSE experience, not a starting point.

How the process actually works
Because the qualification itself is awarded by NEBOSH or IOSH rather than by Avertiz, the process has two connected halves — the learning and coaching we provide, and the formal registration and assessment administered by the awarding body.
- Enquiry and course selection. We confirm which qualification fits your role or your team's requirement, current intake dates, and delivery mode.
- Registration. Formal registration with the awarding body is completed through the current accredited Learning Partner arrangement, and you receive a learner number and confirmation.
- Learning and coaching. Structured teaching sessions, case studies and exam-technique coaching, delivered on the schedule agreed at enquiry.
- Assessment. You sit the formal assessment(s) set by the awarding body — open-book knowledge assessment and/or practical project, depending on the qualification.
- Results and certificate. Results and the certificate are issued by the awarding body once marking is complete, on the timelines shown above.

Common questions
Do I need prior HSE experience to enrol?
No. None of the four qualifications above require prior safety experience or a specific educational background — they're designed to build competence from wherever you're starting.
How is this different from your Corporate Training Programs?
International Training Programs are formal, examined qualifications awarded by NEBOSH or IOSH, recognised globally. Corporate Training Programs are practical, site-specific courses (Work at Height, Fire Safety, etc.) delivered directly by Avertiz for your workforce. Many clients use both.
Can this be delivered for a group at our office?
Yes, classroom delivery can be arranged on-site for a group, or live online for teams spread across locations — confirmed at enquiry based on group size and location.
What happens if someone doesn't pass the assessment?
Resit arrangements are set by the awarding body (NEBOSH or IOSH) under their own policy, not by Avertiz. We'll advise on the specific resit process and any associated fee at the time it's relevant.
